Another amazing 11 days of diving and visiting the Solomons is over and Bilikiki is back in Honiara. What a great trip it was! We had amazing sightings of all kinds with rays on numerous occasions, we saw eagle rays, mobula rays, an oceanic manta at Mary Island and as a finale in the Floridas the manta rays at Devil's Highway came to say farewell to the divers!
After some initial showers we had wonderful weather and calm seas for the trip which allowed us to dive on some of the more exposed sites. Kicha was once again incredible with the big schools of jacks, barracudas, batfish and snappers. The pristine hard coral garden in the shallows was just as impressive too. An unexpected surprise came along during our dive at Fonagho Island in the Russells: a hammerhead shark swam slowly past our group!! Simply amazing!
On the critter side we saw loads too including nudibranchs, coral hermit crabs, signal gobies, cuttlefish, and pygmy seahorses. The village visits to the carvers in Marovo Laggon were another highlight for our guests and many unique souvenirs were purchased.
We would like to thank all our guests for coming to join us - see you again soon!
With best fishes,
Tina & Oli and all the Bilikiki crew
