What an incredible week to start the season onboard MV Bilikiki. Our seven-day diving adventure through the Central Province of the Solomon Islands was filled with vibrant reefs, historical wrecks, and unforgettable wildlife encounters.
It was a true pleasure to host such a friendly, enthusiastic group, and the ocean certainly delivered some magical moments.
Across the week, we explored some of our favourite dive sites across the Florida Islands, Russell Islands and Mborokua. And it was there at Mborokua (or Mary Island as it is more commonly known) where, during our surface interval, we all enjoyed a manta ray sighting at the surface just off the bow of the boat.
A special mention needs to be given to the rare golden angelfish spotted by Amy at White Beach. Seeing this little gem was a first-time sighting for cruise director Pato showing that the Solomon Islands will always surprise you!
We had great luck with marine life - schools of jacks, barracuda, reef sharks, bumphead parrotfish, and an endless parade of reef critters from tiny nudis, dwarf cuttlefish and even an ornate ghost pipefish!
And, of course, the iconic Leru Cut, with its cathedral-like crevice and light beams, continued to wow even the most seasoned divers.
We can say this trip had it all. It was a joy to witness the excitement and appreciation from each diver, whether it was the first dive of the trip or the fifteenth!
A big thank you to our guests for bringing such great energy, and to our dedicated crew for making it all happen behind the scenes. Until next time - happy diving and safe travels!
