Bilikiki spent the last 14 days diving the Solomon Islands with 20 dive enthusiasts from Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the USA all led by Liz Harlin of Undersea Productions. Many repeat guests had come on this trip that took us around the Russell Islands, Mary Island, Marovo Lagoon and the Florida Islands - all in fabulous weather conditions.
Once again we experienced a stunning diversity of sites! There was magical light in Leru Cut and at Mbulo Caves, deep walls teeming with schools of jacks and barracudas, incredible coral gardens, ship and plane wrecks from WWII, critter hunts and on this trip sharks were popular too. We saw many grey reef sharks, whitetips, blacktips and were very excited to spot curious silvertip sharks on a couple of sites. One of the highlights must have been our dive on the Upright Wreck in Marovo, where apart from the strangely upright wreck (bow facing the surface!!), we saw several grey reefs, a beautiful silvertip, and to top it of a hammerhead shark and an ornate eagle ray - all in one dive! Simply amazing!
The village visits to the wood carvers in Marovo and the singing performance of the people of
Karumolun brought smiles to everyone's face and many souvenirs were bought as well.
We would like to thank all of our guests for making it such a great trip and of course the incredible Bilikiki crew, who make it all happen!
With best fishes,
Tina & Oli
