I was lucky enough to join our latest seven day trip around the Solomons, there was a great crowd onboard and we had a really fantastic time!
Highlights included a hammerhead, other sharks and a lot of barracudas at Mary Island, an amazing amount of staggeringly beautiful reef in some great viz, lots of little stuff and some good WW2 wreck dives at Boneghi beach. Every dive had something different about it and we took in an amazing variety of environments during a week, we dived caves and cuts in the Russells, WW2 wrecks, sheer walls with huge fans, fields of coral, mangroves, sandy areas and sea mounts. The amount of different things to see and variety of life was enough to make your head spin!
Karumolun was a real highlight too - the dives were magic with lots of fish and a fair few sharks on the point and the coral garden was looking really healthy. The village visit was also fantastic - it was school holidays so the villagers were out in force and put on a spectacular display of singing, dancing and pan pipe music. It was great to see!
A big thanks to Tina and Oli, all the crew and the office guys too - we could not do it without you! I look forward to being back in November.
Cheers
Sam
