Manager’s Blog - December 21-January 4, 2019/20
Bilikiki is back from her last trip of the season! We have spent these 14 days with guests from the Netherlands, the UK, the USA, Switzerland and Australia! Thank you all for choosing to spend your Christmas and New Year holidays with us!
The end of 2019 was very generous with the diving and the weather! And 2020 has brought bright days and calm seas to start the year too. Our guests enjoyed their Bilikiki experience around the Russells, falling in love with the soft corals at Rainbow Reef and the hard coral gardens at Mirror Pond. Mary was at its best, with thousands of barracudas and big eye jacks as well as the resident school of bump head parrotfish, and of course, Megatron, who has made it through another year!
The Western Province was just stunning and the Floridas and the Bonegies incredible as well! The marine life this trip was unforgettable! Amongst the many things we saw were nurse sharks, hammerheads, grey reefs, silver tips, white tips, black tips, eagle rays, mobula rays, turtles, halimeda ghost pipefish, candy crabs, bobtail squids, nudibranchs, flatworms, pygmy seahorses, common seahorses, cuttlefish, octopus and our cute new friend, Wickham's frog fish!
The carving markets in the Marovo Lagoon were, as always, a big success and Karumolun village visit was just a marvellous way to see out 2019.
The game of the trip was brought from the USA by Allison Vitsky, Exploding Kittens was great fun to play every night! It will stay on board so be ready kittens for more rounds! Thank you very much everyone for such great fun and for being such a nice and easy crowd. We are really looking forward to having you on board again soon!
And last but definitely not least, a BIG THANK YOU to our crew for these 10 months of hard work and big effort. You guys are the greatest!
Until next year, safe travels and happy bubbles!
