July 20-30, 2019 Trip Report
After 10 days of fantastic diving around the Solomons Bilikiki has returned to Honiara. Onboard with us this time were 17 dive enthusiasts from the USA, some of whom had dived the Solomons 30 years ago!
Our guests were very interested in the history of the Solomons and WW2 so we dived on different plane and ship wrecks, as well as on the always popular White Beach dump site. The reef lovers also had plenty of opportunities to enjoy the magnificent coral gardens, walls, seamounts and caves on offer. We saw quite a number of sharks, big schools of jacks and barracudas, a number of cuttlefish, tiny pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, and flatworms - along with all the regular suspects of reef fish and critters. We even saw a big golden seahorse in Maravagi, quite an unusual sight!
Our guests equally enjoyed the village visits in Karumolun and to the wood carvers in Marovo, where a number of unique souvenirs changed hands. Once again a fabulous trip with happy faces all around. A big thank you to all our guests and the hard working Bilikiki crew for making it all happen!
